Larijani Appointed Head of Art Council

TEHRAN -- President Seyed Mohammad Khatami appointed Ali Larijani as head of the Art Council of the Council of Cultural Revolution (CCR). President Khatami, who is also head of the CCR, earlier had appointed Mir Hussein Musavi as head of the Art Cultural Academy. Ali Larijani is head of the state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Organization (IRIB). The Art Council is responsible for policy making in the field of art through its various committees.
The Art Council has the following committees: Architecture Committee headed by Mohammad Beheshti, Visual Arts Committee headed by Zahra Rahnavard, Novel and Short-Story Committee headed by Mehdi Shojai, and Dramatic Arts and Music Committee, head by Ali Montazeri.
